April Watkins: 2025 Nonprofit Trailblazer by City & State!
We’re thrilled to share some exciting news: April Watkins, Chief Program Officer at Path to Jobs, has been named a 2025 Nonprofit Trailblazer by City & State! This award highlights key leaders in New York City’s nonprofit sector, including executive directors, presidents, and CEOs of major organizations as well as other exemplary nonprofit staffers spearheading innovative programs and initiatives.
This prestigious honor recognizes April’s more than two decades of work helping underserved New Yorkers overcome barriers to meaningful employment, as well as her extraordinary leadership in implementing Path to Jobs’ workforce programs. We’re so proud to see April's powerful work at Path to Jobs recognized citywide.
“This award means a lot,” said April, “because I used to be a client of another agency, and I didn’t think I could go as far as I’ve gone. I’ve gotten a lot of joy out of helping people—and watching them grow, even when they thought they couldn’t. I believe everybody should have an opportunity to be employed and to be able to take care of their families.”
